About The Author

Lynne is a Teacher and Maths Advisor. She has been running workshops and writing for parents and teachers for many years. 

 

Lynne was born in England and started teaching in 1969.  Since then Lynne has been teaching mathematics, to all ages and abilities from KS 1 to A level, for over 40 years.

 

Lynne taught in Secondary Schools in England for 15 years.  She was then approached by West Sussex to become a County Advisory Teacher. 

As a County Advisory Teacher Lynne was one of the co - writers of various publications produced for West Sussex Teachers and distributed to other counties.  As well as writing county guidelines, Lynne, along with other advisors, provided ‘In Service Training’ for teachers at both Primary and Secondary level.

 

In 1987 Lynne and her family moved to Dubai, U.A.E.  She started to run evening courses and workshops for parents. She also worked with Dyslexia support groups and with teachers of children with physical and emotional needs. In 1994, when her 2 boys where both in school, she went back into teaching and became Mathematics Advisor in a primary school, working in and out of the classroom with Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers and pupils.  During this time as an advisor she produced activity based maths work for all the Early Years children and teachers. After several years as a school Maths Advisor she went back into teaching Maths at secondary level. She finally left teaching to concentrate on finishing ‘Maths Play’.

 

 

 

 

 

In 2012, Lynne wrote and illustrated a children’s bilingual counting book called  â€˜One Magnificent Mosque’.   She was invited to give a talk at the Dubai International Literary Festival based on ‘One Magnificent Mosque’ and ‘Maths Play’.

 

Lynne still continues to help children with Maths, by working as a private tutor.

 

 

Lynne also runs workshops for parents and teachers, based on ‘Maths Play’
